Shore? Sure!
It’s a Jersey thing.
I’m in Ocean Grove, NJ on a bit of a family getaway (not sure you call it a vacation when you’re retired), so this will be a short dispatch. Though I grew up within spitting distance of the South Shore of Long Island, and had a mother who loved Jones Beach and Robert Moses beach, I’ve become a fan of the Jersey shore. When I’m at the beach I want a boardwalk, amusements and concessions. Ocean Grove, Asbury Park and Bradley Beach have boardwalks. Asbury Park has concessions. For amusements, we head to Point Pleasant or further south. It’s all here, including Methodists (Ocean Grove, Asbury Park and Bradley Beach were founded by the Methodist church).
This area is also important to me: in October 2005 I met Sweet T. at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. We got married in Bradley Beach in August of 2007 and our reception was at the old Asbury Lanes. We honeymooned in Bradley as well.
So pardon me for the brevity but I’m trying to chillax and not think too much about the state of the world under the POTUS (remove the “T” and the “U” and it’s more accurate, you ask me) and reserve my energy for the next NIHILISTIC.
See You Next Tuesday, in other words.
Wink, wink.
